Competition Description: 

​The “Create Your Personal Career Design” competition offered participants the opportunity to develop their vision for their musical future and present it through a creative competition. It was a chance to create a self-management and business plan for a successful music career.

Eligibility:

 

All students of Korea National University of Arts were welcome to participate in this competition.

It was not necessary to have taken the course “Self-Management for Success” in order to participate.

Submission Requirements:

    • Submit two topics:

Self-Management Career Design

Approach: Participants were asked to express their (still vague) Career Design in writing and to describe their vision.

  1. Title: They gave their career design a fitting title.

  2. Description (max. 3,000 characters): They described their professional goals, the path they intended to take, and the strategies they planned to use to achieve their career goals. They illustrated their self-management and creative process.

  3. Target Audience Analysis (max. 1,500 characters): They identified the “gatekeepers” on their path to their career goal, defined their interests, and explained how they intended to communicate their music or projects to them.

  4. CV (max. 3,000 characters): They submitted their current CV, summarizing their musical and professional experiences up to that point.

Business Plan for Your Music Career

Approach: Musicians were required to submit a detailed business or career plan that considered both artistic and economic aspects of their music career.

  1. Target Audience Analysis (max. 2,000 characters): They described who their audience was and how they planned to communicate with them.

  2. Marketing Strategy (max. 2,000 characters): They outlined the steps they intended to take to promote their music, the role social media and digital platforms would play, and whether they were planning any performances or other marketing activities.

  3. Collaborations and Networking (max. 2,000 characters): They explained which partnerships and collaborations were important to them and how they planned to advance their career through targeted networking.

  4. Long-term Goals (max. 1,500 characters): They described the artistic and financial milestones they hoped to achieve within the next 5–10 years.
     

What were the benefits for you?

  • Clarifying their Ideas: They documented their vision and ideas, making them more tangible and achievable.

  •  Feasibility Review: They learned how to critically evaluate whether their ideas could be practically implemented.

  • Feedback: They received valuable feedback from experts and peers.

  • Insights and Career Opportunities: They discovered new perspectives and opportunities in the music industry for their careers.

Eligibility:

  • Target Audience: All students of Korea National University of Arts were eligible to participate.

  • Submission Deadline: Submissions had to be sent via email by May 5, 2025, 12:00 PM (Korean time).

  • Format: Submissions had to be in digital format.

  •  

Prizes and Evaluation:

• Prize: The winner received a cash prize of 1,000,000 KRW.

 

Announcement of Winners:

  • Winner Announcement: The winners were announced on May 8, 2025.

  • Award Ceremony: The award ceremony took place on May 9, 2025, at Korea National University of Arts, with all jury members in attendance.
